What we do

IAFF Local 5133 represents WhidbeyHealth EMS professionals and North Whidbey Fire Rescue firefighter/EMTs.

WhidbeyHealth EMS members provide emergency medical care and transportation to the residents, workers, and visitors of Whidbey Island through their work with WhidbeyHealth’s hospital-based EMS service.

North Whidbey Fire Rescue members serve their community as firefighter/EMTs, bringing fire and emergency medical skills to their work with North Whidbey Fire Rescue.

Local 5133 is the union representing these two bargaining units. We advocate for fair contracts, safe staffing, and professional standards, and support members on the job. WhidbeyHealth and North Whidbey Fire Rescue operate the emergency services our members deliver.
